After spending hours on the internet looking for an odometer to teach place value I decided to make some instead.
These place value odometers show how numbers change from 0-99.
Place Value Odometers are great to use in assorted games focusing on ‘’tens’ and ‘ones’. I like to play “Show Me…” Each child gets out their odometer and I give an instruction such as “Show me a number that has 4 in the tens place”. We share our numbers with the class. We then stand in ascending order and discuss how we knew which order we needed to go in to.
Place Value Odometers are also ideal for those children who just cannot understand how a 9 turns into a 0 when each decade changes. Thank you for visiting my store :)
