This is a pack that includes a poster and bookmark outlining four strategies I have used for struggling readers. The four strategies are predict, monitor/clarify, summarise and question. These strategies will need to be modeled or can be used as reciprocal teaching which is an interactive process in which the student and teacher takes turns modeling the four strategies. The students also can take on the role of the teacher and immensely enjoy doing this. The poster and the bookmark can be used as a reminder for the students. When introducing the strategies the teacher should model using a simple text as this will allow the students to focus on learning the strategies. When the students have had opportunities to practice this it can be used after they have read silently or read aloud a chunk of text
