Looking for a valentines themed resource that also helps improve children’s handwriting?

Handwriting is not only about fine motor skills and pencil control. It is reliant on a child having good visual perceptual skills. This resource is action packed full of visual activities that develop good letter writing skills.

It helps children in Years 1 to 6 to develop:

• Visual Discrimination – the ability to see difference in letter shapes and write them correctly
• Visual Spatial Relations – needed to stop letter reversals
• Visual Form Constancy – the ability to notice a shape when it is different sizes
• Visual Figure Ground – the ability to notice a shape from a busy background, this is needed to be able to copy from the board. </strong>

Created by myself, I use occupational therapy techniques to improve a child’s writing throughout the pack by using a developmental process.

The best bit is that they have no idea how much this resource is improving their handwriting as they are interested in completing the activities. I use it and I know it works

To complete just ask a child to circle or colour in the 5 hearts per page. They must also look for the cupid’s arrow hidden within each picture.

You do not need to think of anything as it has been done for you!

Just print out and use. There are 16 pages of worksheets with 16 activities in total and guidance notes.

Suitable to whole class, small groups and 1 to 1 sessions.
