These playdough mats have been designed, yes, for the use of play dough. However, students could use a number of manipulatives such as string, wool, pom poms, counters, pipe cleaners, found objects to practice their sight words. They have also been designed so that students can use them to practice writing each word using a whiteboard marker if laminated. This resource provides teachers with a creative way to support student learning in developing reading. Repetition is key to developing both accuracy and fluency.
