This resource consists of a 25 slide PowerPoint presentation dealing with the topic of satire. The film version of "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" forms the basis of this unit. A reading of the book is also recommended. In addition to the film and / or book, students are presented with video examples of satire in order to enhance their understanding of what satire involves, how it is employed in the Hitchhiker's Guide and how they can successfully use it themselves. a range of student activities to choose from is provided. The serious nature of satire is also dealt with, whereby some more deeper and abstract issues from the Hitchhiker's Guide are put up for consideration and discussion.
