This three page document contains a series of activities using the 55 word story as the basis for introducing students to the elements and structure of short stories. Added to this is a consideration of the necessity of employing precise word choice, concise and economical use of language, focus on intended audience and careful editing of writing. The activities cover the following areas; - Making predictions both individually and cooperatively

The activities are generally suitable for students in the later years of primary education and the early years of secondary education, as well as home school students.
