This could be used for an investigation, or an assessment, or just to give a practical use of coordinate geometry. Students are presented with a paddock (on a grid) and they work through various concepts such as distance between points, gradient, parallel vs perpendicular, mid-point. A final diagram is given, but not all solutions are worked out.
