This is a simple certificate I set up to coincide with Friday afternoon class meetings. I used to photocopy onto coloured green paper and then cut. One student each Friday would get to sit on my chair, wear a helper lanyard and run the meeting. Students would go around the circle and say: 1) The highlight of their week 2) What they are looking forward to They would then hand out green peer awards which students had filled in that morning. They had to choose a classmate or 'peer' for a particular reason, for example, trying their best, achieving in a subject, being a nice friend to others, being polite, etc. I encouraged them to pick people who weren't just their friends to make it even, and to notice who didn't get one this week to give one to next time. Such a simple routine honestly worked wonders in both my year 6 and year 3 classrooms. Hopefully it works for you!
