ANZAC Heroes - Victoria Cross Winners can be used for ANZAC Day and Rememberance Day activities. This resource contains - 16 information cards on 16 different Australian Victoria Cross winners( to be laminated)
- 16 display sheets—one for each hero—I copy these on A3 to give children plenty of room to record information
Children are required to read their information page on their allocated hero and summarize the information on their display sheet. I have children work in pairs and I also get them to include their personal thoughts on their soldier. At the completion of the work they do a short oral presentation to the rest of the class. The final product makes an excellent, meaningful display piece for ANZAC Day or Remembrance Day Ceremonies.
Suitable for Years 4-8
This resource contains History Concepts that are directly linked to the content descriptors and achievement standards of the Year 3 Australian Curriculum for History.
