The need to work with fractions is a part of everyday life. Tools for working with fractions are the key to success.
This reproducible math resource encourages students to confidently add and subtract fractions that have the same (like) denominator. Students learn to add and to subtract only the numerator and copy the denominator. Pages IV to VI are assigned to procedures and strategies. Pages 1 to 6 deal with fractions and their shaded patterns.
Pages 7 and 8 deal with adding fractions. Pages 9 to 24 deal with adding fractions, whole numbers and mixed numbers.
Pages 25 and 26 deal with subtracting fractions.
Pages 27 to 29 deal with subtracting a fraction from a mixed number.
Pages 29 and 30 deal with subtracting mixed numbers.
Pages 31 and 32 are assessment pages.
The use of 24 questions (problems) on each page makes the program compatible with the LUK self checking system. Each page has a grid with answers and a LUK code key. See more about LUK at LUKselfChecking_Programs.
