This package offers CLIP ART TO TEACH THE CONCEPT OF TALL-SHORT AND LONG-SHORT USING CATERPILLAR AND FLOWERS CLIPART.
I designed this set so students can visually see HOW TALL/LONG or how SHORT the item is because this clip art is structured in units of measurement.
THIS PACK OFFERS
LONG-SHORT CATERPILLARS There are 6 complete sets in 6 colors of long/short caterpillars that show caterpillars from 0 (head only) to 10 (head + 10 body circles) and a black and white set.
TALL-SHORT CATERPILLARS There are 6 complete sets in 6 colors of tall/short caterpillars that show caterpillars from 0 (head only) to 10 (head + 10 body circles) and a black and white set.
TALL-SHORT FLOWERS There is one complete set of flowers showing squares on the stem from 1-10 and there are stems only showing 1-10 and additional flowers and leaves to MAKE YOUR OWN.
BECAUSE OF THE NATURE OF THIS SET- THE IMAGES WILL NEED TO BE RE-SIZED WHEN YOU ARE USING THEM- It is very simple- you just need to drag from one corner to match with the other image so the head or flower is the same size- this will show the EXACT length.
SUGGESTIONS FOR USE:
1. students can compare lengths or heights visually and by counting the units (caterpillar rings or squares on stem) to see which is longer or shorter
2. You can use these with counting and cardinality activities for counting from 1-10 (counting the rings on each caterpillar and recording the number)
3. You can use the tall/short clip art for graphing activities- students can use the flowers or caterpillars as a graph. For instance you can create a graph of 5 by placing 5 caterpillars that show 5 circles beside each other.
