Visual Sequential Memory is the ability to remember and recall a sequence of visual images such as letters, shapes, numbers, symbols or objects in the correct order.
In the “3 Letter Missing Sequence” worksheets, the student must form a mental image of each letter in the sequence on the first page, in order to recall them in the correct order when the sequence is no longer visible. In so doing, the student will be able to identify which letter is missing on the second page.
Visual Discrimination
Visual Discrimination is the ability to identify differences and similarities between two or more visual stimuli by analyzing their individual characteristics and distinctive features.
In the “3 Letter Missing Sequence” Worksheets, the student needs to compare the features of any similar looking letters amongst the four possible answers, in order to identify which letter is exactly the same as the one that they recall is missing.
Figure Ground
Figure Ground perception is the ability to screen out any irrelevant visual material when presented with a lot of visual information at one time (to locate the important stimulus without getting confused by the background or surrounding images). This skill is key for good attention and concentration.
