Visual Sequential Memory
Visual Sequential Memory is the ability to remember and recall a sequence of visual images such as letters, shapes, numbers, symbols or objects in the correct order.
In the “Missing Object in Sequence” worksheets, the student must form a mental image of each object in the sequence on the first page, in order to recall them in the correct order when the sequence is no longer visible. In so doing, the student will be able to identify which object is missing on the second page.
Figure Ground
Figure Ground perception is the ability to screen out any irrelevant visual material when presented with a lot of visual information at one time (not confusing the background or any surrounding images with the important stimulus). This skill is key for good attention and concentration.
In order to complete the “Missing Object in Sequence” Worksheets successfully, the student must attend to each object in the sequence in turn, within the busy field of all the other surrounding objects on the page.
Visual Motor Integration
Visual Motor Integration relates to the coordination of visual perceptual skills with body movement (the use of visual information to guide a motor task). For fine motor tasks, the eyes inform the arm and hand muscles where to go like "follow the leader”, so that motor output matches visual input.
