Visual Memory is the ability to remember what is seen for immediate recall. It involves forming a mental image or picture of the characteristics of any given shape, symbol, object or pattern once the stimulus has been removed.
In the “Picture Words Memory” worksheets, the student must form a mental image of all the pictures on the first page, in order to identify the corresponding words on the second page when the pictures are no longer visible.
Figure Ground
Figure Ground perception is the ability to screen out any irrelevant visual material when presented with a lot of visual information at one time (to locate the important stimulus without getting confused by the background or surrounding images). This skill is key for good attention and concentration.
